Can business models change over time?

Hello cuties!!!!

It has been some time since I have posted, and you may be wondering why, the reason is I was a bit upset. I started this business journey two years ago, in 2023 around August, and ever since, I had to change my business model twice.

Now, why the worry, because the first change, in my opinion was for the better, but the second one was a real pain, it was because the tool I was using had become paying and I did not have the money for it, I searched everywhere for a similar free service and I didn't find any.

My first business model was to offer in person workshops in the city I live, I checked the market for competition before and noticed there were approx. 3 or 4 other places that offered the same service with variations and different professional angles, at the time, I was very motivated about the in person workshops and believed I was going to earn money with it well, however the rental space costs and other activity expenditures did that the price I wanted to ask for was not profitable.

Moreover, I then thought maybe I should make it big and host my events in hotels or other pretty and expensive venues which would justify the higher price I would ask for, but even this way my charges were very high and I worried there wouldn't be enough customers for them ,nor was I very profitable.

Therefore I changed my business model to online workshops and a monthly or yearly membership where I would share tips in a private blog format and offer the premium members a group to network and meet new people. However, the membership never saw the day of light. I never even promoted it, I thought it was the best business model to follow, especially because I found this free webinar where this guy was the best membership coach in the world, his name was Stu and he encouraged you to start one to maximise your profit and offer unique services and in so many different ways, he even explained what prices to ask to be profitable!!!

However as the website I was using to create my membership offering advice on how to improve your vision boards, or what visualising your goals can do for you, became paying, I had to leave it. In addition when I joined them, they were the best free membership creation site, after some months with them, they offered new functionalities like creating blogs and then it seemed as though their algorithms went mad, all my pages were topsy-turvy, I had to change my texts so many times, I wanted to cry, so when it became paying, I was upset, I searched for a similar free website but gave up in the end. Instead, I simply created a website presenting my services and a tab with my digital products for sale.

This was very painful and frustrating because I felt I would never be able to live off my passion, and I would always have to comply to evil algorithms who wanted me to stay poor.

However, after all the pain and frustration, I put aside my ache and moved forward, instead I created a free Facebook group to attract my ideal clients and I will see from there.

My experience is that the problem that came up the second time, created a moment where I had to find a different way, I had to find a new way to sell my services and be profitable. I noticed that I now had two digital products to sell in addition to my freebies, I thought about putting them on Etsy and create a store there and simply not have a site anymore, because I tested two sites and one where I registered and cancelled twice and created a website twice to eventually cancel because I wanted to continue with my membership model, however I finally threw the sponge away and choose a standard website provider and made a simple site.

I am quite happy today with it and my free Facebook group, however the emotions I went through were real. I was frustrated, angry and felt as if the universe or some evil didn't want me to succeed, nevertheless I overcame these emotions, and my sulking that lasted a few weeks to move forward, and I might say I am quite surprised to see how neat my new website looks like and my group too.

Here are some pictures for you to judge by yourself:

In case you want to join the Facebook group, it is for women professionals and entrepreneurs who want to manifest their vision board dream life.

You can also search for it on Facebook if the link does not work.

As you can read, it is for ladies, who like vision boards and what to manifest their vision board goals. Sorry for the men who are reading this, and are not included.

I hope this post has helped you, so to the question can business models change over time the answer is yes, and it can be an emotional moment for you too.

On another note, you may have noticed that my greetings in the heading has changed, I thought hard and I understood recently that my readers are the ones I should celebrate so I decided to celebrate you by calling you the cuties and root for you too.

Wishing you well, I am looking forward to share more with you soon.

XOXO

S.
